Welcome Welcome to silvercharm, the site to view and respond to the writing of Chris Szabo. I write poetry and short prose, and some of my work has appeared in print. I’ve posted links to the relevant books on the site blogroll.
Also on this site, you’ll be able to view photos; photography is another hobby of mine.
This is a place where you’ll read some of the best stuff, but also some of the zaniest stuff I’ve ever written, and even some of the worst stuff {according to readers}. If there was adequate space and time, I’d like to share almost all of my writing, but you gotta draw the line somewhere.
I’m going to post the occasional piece of miscellaneous material which might be seen as odd, strange, wacky, out of character, politically incorrect, offensive, chilling, odious, utterly hilarious, or maybe even downright disgusting or raunchy beyond belief. It’s not my intention to shock or offend anyone; a writer is driven to express themselves and when I write, it’s because something deep inside, over which I have no control, and no desire to control, takes over and forces me to write.
Who knows what you’ll find here – maybe you’ll discover something which speaks to your heart and fills your soul with something you need or want; or conversely you’ll find something so completely different it’ll leave you questioning everything you’ve come to know or believe in.
The pieces are shown in the order they were posted onto the blog. therefore, some of my most recent works are found on previous pages. Every piece is posted with the date they were originally written.
Hope you enjoy some of what is posted, and all comments are welcome. Some comments have been blocked by wordpress, for reasons unknown, and I have no access to those.
Several pieces of my writing have been published. Links to these books can be found in the Links or blogroll sections of this site, or by clicking on “Publications” under categories. Stories and other pieces are in the books, “Minivis”, “Fire And Ice”, “A Charlie Taylor Christmas”, and most recently in Z Is For Zombie.
Another book is forthcoming, as of Nov. 14, 2007, which has my ‘Voices in my head’ entry, which placed second in the associated writing competition. That story is called “I Wish I Was There”, & is on this site.
